Sonia Delen is a Senior Vice President in the structuring and transaction management group at Banc of America Leasing (BAL), a subsidiary of Bank of America Merrill Lynch. She is a corporate manager, entrepreneur, philanthropist, community leader, family & disability advocate, and a femtor. Sonia is the highest ranked Filipina at BAL; serves on the boards of Filipina Women’s Network (FWN), Philippine International Aid; and the University of the Philippines Alumni Association. Sonia is a member of the Executive Committee of the Apl.de. ap Foundation International (ADAFI), where she co-chairs the “Campaign for Filipino Children”, a partnership between ADAFI and Mending Kids International, funding eye and heart surgeries for disadvantaged children. Sonia is an Executive Producer of a documentary film “HARANA”. She is a member of Leadership California Class of 2011, an organization dedicated to advancing the leadership role women play in impacting business, social issues and public policy. In April 2010, Sonia received a Presidential Citation from then Philippine President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo for her years leadership and service to the Fil-Am community in the Bay Area. In 2007, she was selected as one of FWN’s ‘100 Most Influential Filipina Women in the United States’. She currently appears on FWN100 femtoring series on YouTube and V-Day Org’s “One Billion Rising” campaign against domestic violence. Sonia has been invited to speak on diversity in business conference and corporate panels in San Francisco. Sonia graduated from the University of the Philippines with a B.S. degree in Foreign Service, and attended Ateneo de Manila University Graduate School of Business. Sonia enjoys playing golf, traveling, classical music and the opera. She lives in San Francisco with her spouse, Christopher Fitzsimmons and their three boys: David, Justin and Matthew.
